Bazil Tume is an early-career conservationist in tropical Biology, with Cameroon nationality and has grown to develop special interest in the conservation of wildlife within the Congo Basin. He draws his inspiration from the famous primatologist John F. Oates who has guided him enormously through his conservation career.
Bazil has worked as a volunteer with several environmental protection NGOs where he specialized in community livelihood improvement through the sustainable use of natural resources within and around Protected Areas.
His professional experience within this field includes working as focal point/executor of conservation projects including livelihoods trainings, conservation education programs, agroforestry nursery establishment and habitat restoration of degraded forest patches in and around Protected Areas.
