Alain Delon holds a Master’s degree in Applied Ecology and Wildlife Management, and is currently enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Dschang, focusing on the ecological factors affecting Giant Pangolin distribution and abundance, as well as Local Ecological Knowledge (LEK) of Pangolins. Alain Delon has over 5 years of experience in community-based conservation and research-related projects with a focus on medium to large mammals and sustainable exploitation of non-timber forest products. Currently and active member of the IUCN Pangolin Specialist Group, he is also member of the Cameroon Pangolin Working Group, fellow of the SMACON West African Mammal Fellowship program, and of the program Enhancing the Conservation Science Capacity for Under-represented Species in West Africa. Alain Delon is also staff member of Agriculture and Bio-conservation Organization for Youth Empowerment and Rural Development (ABOYERD), where he is in charge of the Research Department. Alain Delon has published many peer-reviewed scientific papers on the ethnozoology and ecology of pangolins in Cameroon, and feels very comfortable working on a team in respect with our differences and have no problem with critics and changes. He is passionate about learning continuously and acquiring new skills and very good in identifying opportunities, initiating, planning and coaching with a good information management skill. Alain Delon has very good abilities in collecting data with field equipment as well as analyzing data with software such as R, Kobocollect and PRESENCE.
