Aghah Valery Binda – Executive Director

AGHAH VALERY BINDA has several years of experience as a teacher of environmental science and over three years of experience in biodiversity conservation with special interest in using social and economic incentives to strengthen biodiversity conservation in biodiversity-rich but financially poor rural communities. He is an alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) West Africa Emerging Leaders Program, Accra-Ghana. Valery is Africa Section liaison of the conference committee of the Society for Conservation Biology (SCB) where he is part of a global community of conservation professionals dedicated to advancing the science and practice of conserving Earth’s biological diversity, and also doubles as Secretary General of the Cameroon Chapter of the society. He is director of Agriculture and Bio-conservation Organization for Youth Empowerment and Rural Development (ABOYERD), a youth-led grassroots conservation organization in Cameroon and holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Ecology and Wildlife Management at the University of Dschang, Cameroon where he also serves as an Ambassador for Environmental Science without Borders (ESWB), under the Center for Diverse Leadership in Science, University of California Los Angeles. Valery is so passionate about the protection of nature in its entirety and is committed to using biodiversity conservation in ensuring zero poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, and clean water and sanitation in rural communities.
